go-e Charger
Sunplug reaches your go-e Charger through go-e's official Cloud API. Enable it in the go-e app. Sunplug never asks for a go-e password, and the app keeps working.
This was tested against the vendor specifications but isn't running for Sunplug customers yet. If you experience any issue setting it up, reach out to support@sunplug.app and I will work with you to iron out any issue.
Cloud API, or OCPP?
Both work. The Cloud API is better: the go-e app keeps working. OCPP would take the charger away from go-e's own cloud.
Connecting
- In the go-e app, go to Internet → Advanced settings and turn on the Cloud API
- The app then shows the charger's Cloud API key — copy it
- Settings → Equipment → Chargers → go-e Charger (cloud)
- Enter the charger's serial number (6 digits, shown in the go-e app) and the Cloud API key, and check it works
The charger must be online for Sunplug to reach it — the Cloud API needs an internet connection, not just power.
How Sunplug drives it
Sunplug sets the current in whole amps as your surplus changes. Below the 6 A minimum it forces the charger off rather than trickling, and resumes when there is enough sun, with the amp setting left unchanged.
Frequent changes cause no wear on V3 and later hardware. On older V2 units, changes are written more carefully.
Turn off the go-e app's own eco/PV mode. It steers the same current setting Sunplug does, and the two fight each other.
When it does not work
Cannot reach it
Check the charger is online in the go-e app, and that the Cloud API is still turned on under Internet → Advanced settings. Check the serial number and Cloud API key in Sunplug match what the app shows.
It accepts the rate but the car does not follow
Some cars take a minute to respond, and some ignore changes below a certain step. That is the car, not the charger.
Charging never starts
The charger may be in "force off" from a previous session. Check the go-e app shows it as ready.
