Setup guides → Sungrow
Sungrow
The easiest cloud connection Sunplug offers. You click a button, approve on Sungrow's own page, and that is the whole setup — no keys to copy, no installer to chase, and Sunplug never sees your password.
The full OAuth consent flow has been run for real against iSolarCloud's sandbox — sign-in, approval, callback and token exchange. Reading a production plant's data is the step still outstanding.
Connecting
- Settings → Equipment → Sungrow
- Connect with Sungrow
- Sign in on iSolarCloud's own page and approve the request
- You are returned to Sunplug and your plant is connected
You can withdraw access from iSolarCloud at any time without touching Sunplug.
Five minutes is the floor
Sungrow inverters upload to iSolarCloud every five minutes, so that is as fresh as the data gets no matter how often Sunplug asks. It tracks surplus well enough on a steady day and lags a fast-moving one. There is no local option today.
You need a plant
Authorisation is granted per plant, so your iSolarCloud account needs one with your inverter registered against it — usually created by your installer at commissioning. An account with no plant has nothing to approve, and the sign-in will stop with a message saying so.
When it does not work
"An installer must approve this first"
Your account has no plant attached. Ask whoever commissioned the system to add you to it, or create one and register the inverter's serial.
It connects but no readings arrive
Sungrow addresses each measurement by an opaque numeric identifier, and which ones a plant reports varies by setup. If Sunplug says it found no plant power, it will list the identifiers your plant did return — send me that message and I will add them.
It stops working after a while
The authorisation expired or was withdrawn. Reconnect from Settings → Equipment; it takes the same few seconds as the first time.
Sungrow support is new and has been tested against Sungrow's own API but not yet against a real inverter in a real house. If you have one, I would particularly like to hear from you — contact@sunplug.app.
